“The basic human right of children and young people is their right to live a happy life. Their right to feel safe, to be safe, to be heard and be respected. Their right to progress in life pursuing their dreams and aspirations. We believe it is all about being given the opportunities from which to build and grow. Instilling confidence from where self-belief will effortlessly manifest. St Benedicts fundamental aim is to provide a foundation and environment that will prepare children and young people for the rest of their lives as they embark on their diverse journeys ahead.”
St Benedicts philosophy is to have fun, enjoy and achieve.
The service is aimed to enhance the quality of young people’s lives, promoting dignity and respect through the use of therapeutic parenting. The therapeutic parenting model will help to establish a secure base from which the children in our care can develop, thus preparing for independence and access to mainstream activities.

Therapeutic rationale
At St Benedicts we have chosen to use the Therapeutic Parenting Model as the means of supporting our young people to meet their respective outcomes for the duration that they are in our care and beyond. The Therapeutic Parenting Model encompasses and promotes the optimum relationship between staff and young people to assist in meeting their developmental needs. At the foundation of our day to day functioning we endeavour to model a secure base to the children and young people in our care. Our process of initial assessment, external therapeutic input and Therapeutic Parenting Model incorporated by staff, are in place as a form of holistic care which is delivered within each level and interaction with the young people in our care.
BACKGROUND
The co-founders of St. Benedicts have a vision to create something that will make a lasting positive difference to as many young people’s lives as possible. Relatively new to this sector but they come with a wealth of relevant experience including from the world of finance, medicine and social elderly care. Their expertise and funding is the starting point. The framework of building a team with passionate, experienced and knowledgeable individuals from within the sector has been painstaking but rewarding. We now believe we have the personnel at the hierarchy of the company to lead and inspire both the rest of the growing team and most of all the children we care for.
